Welcome to State Technical College of Missouri!
We are honored you are here. When you walk across the stage at the end of your program, you will join more than 11,000 individuals who are graduates of the College. Attend class, work hard, and handle your problems yourself and we will do our best to help you graduate and obtain profitable employment.
Students at the College are expected to participate actively in each class. The classes are small so that students can get intensive hands-on experience and receive personal attention from instructors. Attendance is important, but participation (interaction and active, critical thinking) is equally important in order to get the most out of your technical education.
Students need to apply themselves to studies at the College. Neither instructors, administrative staff, nor parents can assure the students’ success. Success depends on each student’s willingness to take responsibility for his or her own learning.
Students who attend the College are interested in developing marketable skills that will prepare them for a technical position in industry. The employees of the College are here to guide that preparation in a practical and systematic manner and to assist students in learning under the best of conditions. This handbook was prepared to help the students understand the procedures and regulations of the College. Please also review the 2014-2015 New Student Resource Guide .
Notice of Student Responsibility. The College reserves the right to revise the following policies, regulations, and schedules. Each student is responsible for the information contained in this handbook. Failure to read the handbook will not be considered a valid reason for non-compliance.
