The Student Activities Director assists employees and Student Government Association officers in maintaining an effective program of student activities. See Article Student Activities Office.
The College offers a number of activities that take place outside the regular classroom and for which credit is not given. Each student is urged to participate in extracurricular activities. Sponsored activities are for students and the student’s guest(s) as appropriate. Guests under the age of seventeen will not be admitted without advance permission from the student activity sponsor.
Any interested person or group of people who wish to create an organization can form clubs on campus with approval from the Student Activities Director. Each student organization is required to have a constitution, which states the aims and purposes of the group and how it contributes to campus life and student development. Each organization is responsible for choosing its own officers and for scheduling its activities with the Student Activities Director. All student clubs must have a College–affiliated sponsor in order to draw upon student activity fees and use State Technical College of Missouri in their names.
